I CAN SEE THE PILES AND PILES AND...

Ever wonder why I never finish those creative projects that I promise to share? Have you noticed that I'm not sharing my beautiful garden or luscious recipes? It's because I am buried in these piles of picture frames and so much more. Simple meals or fast food replace favorite recipes and my garden is only an imaginary one these days.

Truth is, at one time I was a fairly decent gardener, enjoyed creating delicious recipes, reupholstered my own furniture, heirloom quilted, made my own clothes, window treatments and bedding...am I making you ill yet? If it makes you feel better, I never learned to take photos beyond the aim, click and shoot kind. I'm slowly warming up to computers, but still don't trust them. Anything mechanical hurts my brain. And math...absolutely HATE math.

Well then, what happened? Glad you asked. Long story very short; we ended up a manufacturer of home and children's decor in 2003. Here's a snippet of our world these days.

I made an attempt to start another project this weekend. Here's the beginnings of a Flights of Fancy patchwork handbag that I started and I can only hope it won't get buried under the piles.

THAT'S MY GRANDSON, YOU BOOBS!

I'm so sorry, I couldn't help it, but when I saw this picture of Wyatt wedged between the Pacer's Pacemates, taken with his dad's IPhone, all I could think was, "Back off, you're smothering him. He can't breathe". My husband's remark was, "You should be ashamed of yourselves" (quote from Pink Panther). Fortunately, all he had on his mind was that he just finished high fiving the players during halftime on the court, thank goodness.

He's been to two Pacers games in one week. He has just about every football player of every NFL team memorized and draws and colors them daily. Then Jennifer and I can hear him actually playing a game and at times I find mangled paper players around the house. I lined a few of them and snapped this shot. The middle guy has beaded braids. Don't ask me why some have masks. Cute, huh?

WHAT I'M LOVING THESE DAYS

Top on the list is this man. We were married 27 years ago on March 13. Twenty seven is not a significant year, but I have been a bit introspective lately about life, and Tim has definately been the one person to whom I can attribute much of my personal success. I could go on and on, but right now I have a few other Loverlies to share.

.Feast your eyes on these handbags by Simone over at Gardenhouse. These are just 2 of many incredible bags embellished with vintage brooches, velvet ribbon, lace and an amazing combination of fabrics. Each one is equally unique. One talented designer, that Simone.

Then I pop on over to see how Jona's office was progressing. Well, bust my buttons! What should I see but my Flights of Fancy Par Avion on Jona's desk chair. What a clever idea, don't you think? No, not that she used my fabric, but that she made a boring commercial chair so charming. And it's perfect with Patty Young's Andalucia for the trim. I feel honored. Seriously. And I love Jona's color choices. So cheerful and inspiring.

And finally I heard that sweet Lily over at Lilyhaven had a Flights of Fancy birthday party. Here are the goodie bags, which I heard the moms wanted. Then here is the Birthday girl in her "Butterfly Dream" dress. Work it, girl! What a special day and a special mom that put it all together!
.

I know it's the weekend now, but it's the first chance I've had to say hello since the last giveaway. Things are gearing up even more than usual as we get ready for some upcoming shows. My favorite thing to do as soon as I sit still is to check out blogland and many of you are up to. Have a great weekend, and please be sure to share your own loverlies in the Flights Of Fancy Fabric Flickr group.

WE HAVE A WINNER

Yawn. Oh, it's almost bedtime and I promised to pick a winner of my 100th post. The grandkids are gone now, so I relied on the random.org. According to Mr Random the winner is 107. The person who left the 107th comment is Jackie Davis. Congratulations Jackie.

Have a wonderful weekend.

PHOTO SHOOT + MORE GOODIES

UPDATE: Quilt Home wants you to know they are offering 15% off on in-stock Flights of Fancy fabrics from now through Sunday, March 8. Be sure to enter Coupon Code: flight15. Coupon expires 11:59 p.m. PST. 4 days left. Go check them out.

I promised I would show you the photo shoot for our local Carmel Magazine, so here it is. The article is featuring my studio redo, and a tad about my fabrics. Do you know it's impossible to look cute and fling fabric at the same time? Note to self: Never allow a photographer to shoot up! Anyway, it was a fun experience and my office never looked cleaner.

I also wanted to share a couple more Flights of Fancy goodies from my F of F Flickr group. Check out this adorable Zinnia adorable bubble dress from Ivy and Mae.

And how about these great magazine bags from Midwest Chic? What fun inspiration or a great gift idea, no doubt. Thank you all for adding your goodies for all to see.

Lastly, remember to include yourself in the giveaway (see prior post) which ends this Friday.
