SO MUCH TO SAY + GIVEAWAY

I've been a busy girl, but oftentimes have nothing to show for it. Most of what I do seems like it takes forever to get completed. I've started a quilt for my Amelia in hopes to have it finished for Christmas. Since that isn't happening, I'll show you at least the start. I'm using fabrics from my Summer Soiree. I have appliqued the flowers and leaves onto the pieced vase and background. It's the first time for me to applique, and I think I did pretty darn good. I'm having so much fun planning it out. I'll share more as I get further along, but don't hold your breath. I wouldn't want you turning blue on my account.
Okay, I just had to show you another sighting of my fabric on TV. This is from the CBS show, Accidentally on Purpose, starring Jenna Elfman. I have never seen this show, but emails had me checking it out. Sure enough, it is indeed my Par Avion from my Flights of Fancy fabric collection that Jenna is sitting on (instead of wearing). Gee, my doctor uses paper, but I'm sure that will change now! Not exactly what I had in mind when I designed it. Hope they used the laminate for easy cleaning (eewww, did I say that?).

I have several projects and deadlines spread out here, there and everywhere, some of which I can't wait to share with you, but most as I mentioned are not complete. I find that I have no trouble coming up with ideas and designs, in fact, I can't turn them off. The problem is all the behind the scene details slow me down. I have no time to play with my new Woodland Delight fabrics right now. I'm sitting here today with a long list of what I should be doing, but find myself "daydreaming" (another word for procrastinating) over a fresh stack of Woodland Delight. Oh what I'd love to make with these new fabrics. Hhmmm, maybe you can help.

Whatya say I give you a choice between these two stacks and you tell me which one you'd choose and what you'd make with them. Easy enough, right?

PINK WOODLAND DELIGHT
GREY WOODLAND DELIGHT
On Tuesday the 15th I'll randomly pick a winner for the PINK and one for the GREY. Each stack contains 1/2 yard of the fabrics shown; enough to make something birdalicious, wouldn't you say? Can't wait to hear what your ideas are. You just might speak them into becoming reality. Fun, huh?
Now I need to get back to work and leave the daydreaming to you! xoxo

  1. Well, I am moving into a new house on the 17th and am FINALLY moving out of my sewing closet and into a HUGE room of my own! I would make Valances out of the Pink stack with your fantastic fabric!

  2. Hey Paula! I don't watch that show but that is really cool that it was on there.

I have been on a fabric buying hiatus (how sad is that???). Your grey colorway is my FAVORITE and is top on my list to buy after the holidays. If I won't, I think I would make me a scarf and possibly a camera bag.

Hope you and yours have a very Happy Holiday!!! Thanks for the giveaway and can't wait to hear more about what you have been up to.

  3. The Grey is screaming "pillows" and accents (maybe a name banner?) for a boy's nursery, a very special little boy coming in the Spring! Love it!

  7. My doctor doesn't use fabric either - but how fun would that be?? It would make things a bit more interesting :)

And I'm diggin' the gray - aqua & red are such a popular combo, and the gray gives it a new spin...I bet we'll start seeing more of that combo in the next few months, thanks, in part, to the inspiration provided by your fabric! :)

  8. How exciting to have your fabric on Prime Time TV - very cool!

I am working on some new designs - 1 being small metal frame change purses - they would look snazzy in either fabric but I if you tied me up and forced me to pick I guess I will go with the ............ Grey!

Thank you now get back to work!!!!

  9. I love the grey colorway! I would use it to make something for my girls, maybe a skirt or dress. :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Gray!! And I would so make some pillows with them. I could get Patty's new ModKid pillow pattern! They would be perfect together!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I love them both! But, I'd probably pick the pink and make something cute for my daughter. She's 6 and loves pink. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  12. They are both adorable, but I pick grey since I'm redoing my daughters room in similar colors. Yellow and teal and some pillows out of these would look super cute on her bed!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Both are so lovely. I would certainly make a dress for my baby girl with the pinks, but some of the grays would be great for some pjs for my nephew due in April. Either way, I would love to win!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh I would love this. I would use it to make a memory board for my daughter's new room. I am waiting for the pattern for that wonderful quilt to come out so I can make it for her bed. I would use the pink fabric for the memory board and maybe a cute doll to go on her bed. Thanks for the chance! Marnie

  15. Weee! I love the grey colorway, because grey is quickly becoming my color of the season. Aaaaand....some pillows are in order, plus I see a pair of it bitty baby pants in there for a special boy I know!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I am loving your fabric lines ... they're so awesome and I'm hoping to get some for Christmas (not sure my hubby will be willing to comply, so think about how you might be able to help him with a giveaway).
thanks and good luck with the deadlines! I'd make a quilt for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nice giveaway. I'd love to win the pink so I can make a big girl quilt for my daughter. She recently graduated from her crib to a toddler bed so a quilty gift is in order. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  18. My personal favorite is the pink, but to win something so bodacious requires an equally awesome use. So, if I win, I would like the grey as it appears rather gender neutral and then I would use it to make a bumper pad and quilt for the new grandbaby that's just a bean right now but due to arrive in August!

  19. It's so hard to choose because I have projects in mind for both...but I'll choose pink since I'd love to make a bag out of it...made a couple bags out of your last line and gave them both away...so I need one for myself this time!

    ReplyDelete
  20. yayyy to flights of fancy!!!
    that's awesome.

    i'd pick the gray.
    {but i SO wouldn't turn down the pink.}
    :)

  21. I'd say gray would be my choice ... I have a little boy and this could be fun for things for him ...

    ReplyDelete
  22. The Grey Woodland Delight would be perfect for the play house I am planning for my girls. I am designing something to be attached the underside of our dining room table so they can go underneath and play - without disrupting anything one top. In a small space this is a new way to play.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yippee!!! I love, love, love Woodland Delight! I ordered a charm pack from Fat Quarter Shop and when I opened it up, I thought "OH NO! Here goes all of my Christmas money because I have to get more of this!!!"

I would pick the pink fabrics and I have just the project in mind. I am planning to make some patchwork drapes to line the French doors of the closet in my sewing room. Woodland Delight has the perfect mix of cool modern prints and girly fun colors for my sewing room!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love the grey! I would make a handbag from that gorgeous stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  25. pink! pillows pillows and some more pillows. totally cute

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love those fabrics but the grey colorway is my favorite. I would make accents for my new niece or nephew's nursery. It is the first baby for them and they are excited!

    ReplyDelete
  27. No fabric at my docs office either but very cool to see on TV!

The grey is my favorite and I'd probably make a hat/scarf for my oh-so-fashionable 11 year old.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would make a cloth doll using the zig zag stripes for the legs and the other fabrics for the costume! I love the Pink Stack! and, would love to win the giveaway...

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'd use the pink woodland delight to make something cute for my little niece! An activity bag w/ruffles and a matching crayon roll-up holder and little zipper case for her little doo dads.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oooh, I love the grey. I'm making my husband a blazer and I'd use some of it to line the pockets. The rest I'd use in a quilt for myself! Thanks for being so generous!

    ReplyDelete
  31. How fun that your fabric is on "Accidentally on Purpose"!!! I've seen the show, its goofy.. but LOVE it as Dr. table paper. Yes, I'm SURE its the laminated version ;)
Lets see - I LOVE both colorways... but I'd go for the grey & blue as I have a little boy to arrive at the end of march! I'd make a plethora of burp cloths, changing mats, bibs, and a stroller quilt to keep his little self warm this spring while on walks. Thanks so much! Cheers!

  32. Pink Pink Pink for me please!!
Love your applique. Can't believe you're a first timer.
    Beautiful work.
    Andi :-)

  33. Since I'm turning out 'boy' graduation quilts by the carload, I would use the grey to make a quilt. We have to cover ALL the boys from the soccer team! From midget to 12th grade! YIKES!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, honestly, I'd love both color ways. But If I had to pick, I think I'd go with the Grey. I'm preggers and we're letting the gender be a surprise, but I'm wanting to make a little baby quilt and I love the grey color way for that project. Of course I'm always excited to make something for my 4 yr old daughter too. She'd look cute in a little top made from that fabric too.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Since I am making graduation quilts for the soccer team (grades kindergarten thru twelfth), I would use the grey to make a 'boy' quilt! YIKES! What am I THINKING???

    ReplyDelete
  38. i like the blue stack, and what would i make, a quilt of course, maybe for my mil as a thank you for letting my family move in (4 kids, hubby and i) in a 2 bdrm trailer, she would love that!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. How exciting to get to see your fabric on TV, even if it's an unconventional place.

I love both colorways, but I'd have to choose pink. My daughter's big girl room is pink and gree with tons of birds and these would fit in great. It's a toss up between quilts for their baby dolls or summer dresses for MY baby dolls. hehe

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi!

Well, it was a tough choice. But I think I'd go with the gray colorway. I'm picturing a patchwork pillow with a one "crazy" (assymetrical) log cabin block or maybe a stacked coin pillow/quilt.

But of course, anything left I'd make zip pouches, clutches, & wallets :)

    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  41. The grey is definitely my favorite! I love that color combination, ever since my grandma made me some jammies out of it when I was little. I would use it to make something cute for my daughter's apartment (her first after college)!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Pink! I'd love to sew my daughter some pillows for her bed and maybe some doll dresses as well.

    Heather

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow, what a hard decision. I think I'd have to go with blue and I'd make myself a new purse and maybe a skirt as well!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Fab-oo. The pink stack is wonderful. Would make baby bibs, and bind flannel receiving blankets.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I saw your fabric on TV last night! I love that fabric!

    ReplyDelete
  46. It's time. My niece needs to be introduced to something other than pink---so it's the grey! I'd love to try another Patty Young pattern!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Love all of the color schemes but I think the pink is probably my favorite. I would make something for my little granddaughter to wear -- maybe a strip work jumper. If there were leftovers, I would make a new wristlet for myself. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. how can i choose? i have 2 boys and one girl
so should i choose the blue? or the pink??
ill go with the.... blue! i love the blue! yeyyy!!
    thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  49. the grey color way is my favorite! I could see making a fun little bag for me with a contrast trim or a fun baby quilt or, maybe a little girl's dress (and if I am careful with the fabric, I could make more than one ;) )
Thank you for a wonderful give away!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

  53. I choose both, how about that! I't impossible to choose. If I win I'd make my granddaughter a fabulous outfit from it - dress, pants, jacket - everything!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Although I have a daughter and pink is all she is wanting to wear right now - I'm going to choose the BLUE - I love blue and red and gray together - it just meshes so nicely. I plan to make her a reversible pinafore top with two of the fabrics that she can layer with a long sleeve top and with the remaining two fabrics, ruffled bottom long pants (matilda jane style) to match with the top - your patterns are always so lovely!!!

  55. GRAY!!!! To be honest I really like them both but the gray is my fav. I already have two projects in mind. A cute modkid dress (Ava) for my niece & an Ipod holder. Thanks a bunch for the giveaway. I'm keeping my fingers crossed extra tight for this one...

    ReplyDelete
  56. You are just showing up everywhere! Congratulations!

Either color way of your new fabric would make a really cute skirt for my daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hey Paula! Very cool that your fabric was spotted on TV. I actually read some where that they also used some Urban Chiks (from Moda) on that show too - they must have one fabric savvy set decorator working there!

I love the grey colourway and would use it first to make a cover for my new Janome and then probably a purse! If there was anything leftover after that I'd integrate it into a quilt (maybe a string quilt)!

    ReplyDelete
  58. On a grey day of Woodland Delight,
I'd take to creating in fanciful flight.
    a dress, a shirt,
    a bag, a skirt
    Grey little birdies
    and turqouise for flirt.
    To five little offspring,
    big smiles will come,
    when mommy shouts,
    "come see, I'm all done!"

    ReplyDelete
  59. I would choose the grey stack and would make a runner and/or set of pillows...maybe with a few konas I could get both done!~ Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  60. The pink is lovely and all, but I LOVE that grey! What would I do...probably hoard it until I had a room that it would match with, then make pillows and such. :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I love the grey. I would make a tree skirt or, I have no idea if I could get a tree skirt out of that yardage, but I know I could make a curtain for my spare bedroom!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'd choose the grey to add to my quilting fabric.....have several planned for this winter in those colors...It sure would be fun to win!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Hi Paula!
I would make Sandi Henderson's pinwheels...have you seen the tutorial she shared for her booth pinwheels...it's a fabulous way to display beautiful fabric as the art that it is all by itself!

How funny about the table paper on that show. I work in the OB/GYN field and only, ever, is disposable white paper used. How strange that the set designers felt it necessary to dress it up. But what a fine choice they made! xo, suzy

I love all the fabrics, and would definitely make some of my tea towels with a new design using the pinks. It truly is such a hard decision because they are both so perfect.

A beach towel would be great too. I am also into fabric flowers right now. However, in the end I would still want to do some kitchen towels and matching pot holders.

  119. I love the grey colorway. I already have plans in my head...kyoko by modkidboutique - the pattern is sitting in my basket waiting for fabric too!

  120. Both colorways are so unique and crisp that I can see a cute dress for one of my granddaughters or totes for all of them or...better yet, lamp shades for my studio! That could set the color scheme and I could quit dithering about which colors and fabrics I am going to use. You could actually save me from myself!

  121. oooh.... i'd so take that gray and make the amy buter lotus quilt :) and it would help since i've already collected some to start it!

Normally I would be all about the pink, (DH calls me a pink freak, I think it's just natures way of offsetting the high levels of testosterone I live with between hubby and 3 boys) BUT I'm seriously drawn to the grey colorway..and would make a purse and matching skinny scarf with them.

  156. Love the grey stack! I have absconded with my husband's office and am slowly making it into my craft room. So far, I've stolen about 80% of the space, LOL. I would love to use the fabric to make a valance for the window in there, and then to make some coordinating things to tie it all together - some fabric baskets, a new ironing board cover, and maybe even some of those cool canvases where you just wrap fabric around them and hang them up...or maybe embroidery hoops instead of canvases. Hmm...I also want to make an embroidered clock, and that bird fabric would be great as an applique!

    ReplyDelete
  157. I adore the gray stack! I actually have some of your fabrics waiting in an unopened box under my tree. My husband has such great taste in gifts LOL! =) Definitely a quilt out of those goodies--the aqua and gray is just stellar!

I think I would make my mom a new apron to wear in her kitchen. And, I'd love to make myself a new bag with those bright, happy prints. Those beautiful flowers & birds would help me think of the warm, spring days ahead instead of these cold, bundle-up Wisconsin days we are experiencing right now!

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you & your family.
