First off, let me just start by saying OUUCCHHHH to Esther, my new personal trainer. Not like I'm training for anything, but she's trying her best to whip me into some sort of shape, other than the one I currently have. Now I just need to convince her (okay, and maybe her family) to move in with me to kick my butt daily. She gets me to do things I would never normally agree to, especially if I were telling myself to do them.
We have been gaining very slow progress on our guest bath remodel. It's not even a full remodal; we merely tackled the sink area. With my Mini MacGyver's constant business trips, weekends filled with commitments, family and yardwork, we average about a couple hours per week on remodel. This past weekend we hoped for a larger time frame before he took off again. The only available time left was between 1-4 on Sunday before Tim had to leave for Vancouver, Canada by 5. We raced from church stuff to rent a tile cutter. Tim's job was to run from the second floor guest bath to the tile cutter machine he set up outside on the ground level (in upper 90's temps). Once he made the cut, he ran up the stairs to place the tile, then back down to make the next cut. And all before he had to race off to return the tile cutter and make it to the airport on time. Fun huh? Here's a peek at the doors Tim made and I painted. And the handles we whittled. No, just kidding.
Can you believe it's officially September? Just the name of the month seems to conjure up thoughts of cooler weather, autumn breezes and warm fall colors for many of us in the U.S. Okay, so it's still in the mid-90's in the midwest and the humidity attacks my hair when I merely let the dog out. There hasn't been an ounce of rain in well over a month so the leaves are falling, even though they forgot to change colors first. I know things will "fall" into place soon and the cooler weather, autumn breezes and warm fall colors will finally be upon us.
Today, in honor of September I pulled out some of my Woodland Delight fabrics and helped myself to some of my neighbors zinnias. She insists it helps them multiply if I cut them and I so want to be a good neighbor. As you know, I'm not a muted colors kinda gal and these are the fall colors my eyes seem to devour.
So here's where you come in. Michael Miller Fabrics turned my Large Modern Flora in the Brown colorway into a tiny wale corduroy. I have been caressing the richness of it and pondering what kinds of things you would make if you had some. Hmmm, let me get back to that idea in just a minute.
I am not the fastest techie on the block. Okay, I'd come in last in any given competition. Hopefully I get a half point for exposing that weakness, right? I can spend days googling how to add features or social bookmarking and find the tutorials are usually created from someone in a far away country and the the one response to their posts are something like, " Hey dude, it no work for me. Bad link". Even if I finally figure how to plant an icon on my blog, I still can't get to the bottom line of how that matters to me or you. Question is; can you figure out how to follow me just by looking around and clicking, or do I need serious blog counseling?
How do you follow me?
Tell me HOW you follow/link to me. Is my blog in your sidebar? Do you link to me through Bloglines? Do you follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Technorati, Flickr or Google Friends...if you follow me in more than one way, say Bloglines, Facebook and Twitter that gives you 3 chances to win.
Each time you convince me that I am indeed your computer savvy friend, you SCORE. And I would appreciate you letting me know if something is NOT working properly on my blog (then fix it for me?)
For your reward I will give you 2 yards; I repeat, 2 yards of this yummy Large Modern Flora corduroy. PLUS: an extra 2 yards from the Woodland Delight Quilt Weight Collection of your choosing. That could be 1 yard each of two different patterns, one half yard of 4 pieces, etc. But it's 4 yards total, baby.
Thank you, thank you and now let's get this party started!

UPDATE: You are all so amazing! Thank you so much for all your wonderfully helpful comments.
I will announce a winner on Labor Day, September 6
HI Paula,
ReplyDeleteI can easily 'follow' your blog by clicking on the top 'Blogger' bar by clicking on the word 'follow'. This is how I usually begin to follow someone, but sometimes I notice that option is not always there. I can see it on your blog, though. So, I started following you a few months back and I keep up with your posts thru my Google Reader. Amazing how much your fabric resembles those zinnias! I'd love the challenge to find something to do with corduroy - thanks for the opportunity!
I follow you by Google Reader and love it!
ReplyDeleteI follow you by clicking subscribe below the comments. Then it comes up automatically every time you post something in my windows live mail as a feed. I also follow on Flikr and facebook : ) Love ya!!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Paula,
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog via Google Reader. I simply typed your URL into 'add subscription' and your feeds automatically populate in my reader everyday. Lovely fall fabrics BTW!
I follow you through google reader, and another blog I read showed me how to add a button to my bookmark bar and I can just click easily to the next new blog post. LOVE this! It has made it so much easier keeping up with them. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGood morning. What fun colors in your post today! I follow your blog in Google Reader. Like the others, I just added your address to the "Add Subscription" link and now I see all your new posts.
ReplyDeleteI also follow you on Twitter!
I follow you on my google reader & I would dearly love some more of your fabric! You've been one of my favorite fabric designers!
ReplyDeletemmm today I came through Facebook
ReplyDeleteI hate all those reader and blog update delivery thingies, they just clutter my inbox (or maybe I have too many blogs to read, lol!!!)
I DO think you could use a "widget" that shows multiple social networking portals...I have one on my blog (top left column) and you can choose which sites you use when you set it up...
go here http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/blog-badge (email me if you need help)
and I NEED ;) for you to put that up near the top, maybe the right side just under your "about me" thing ;)
and I NEED that corduroy!!!!!
I like following people in private so I put them in my google reader. Normally people put up the follow button (google friends or something like that) and I just click on it or I copy the blog address and just copy it in my reader.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think that you need to change something on your blog, everything is working just fine!
And yes, I also linked you in the sidebar of my blog :)
I follow you on google reader and it comes in perfectly--which is so nice. Not everyones comes in with photos and the whole text, some I have to click into to read which is kind of a pain when I read so many. (How lazy does that make me sound?) Great giveaway! I've been wanting the Pebble Stone and Woodcut Garden for ages, but haven't bought it for lack of a NEED and finances, but can always find a project for fabrics. Especially with two children. Thanks for the constant inspiration! Your blog is always a joy!
ReplyDeleteHi Paula,
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Facebook and just added you to my Twitter list.
Paula!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know I love you. I follow you on Twitter, Facebook, in your sidebar too.
XOXO
Daria
Paula you're in my Google Reader AND I've been following you on Twitter for a while!
ReplyDeleteI follow you through my google reader.
ReplyDeletePaula, I follow your blog by listing it in my sidebar and I 'follow' in blogger (I use my sidebar more often though). Now that I know you're on facebook, I'll totally be stalking, er, I mean finding you there. I think I follow you on twitter, but since I have three kids (who don't tweet) mainly, I follow them.
ReplyDeleteHi, Paula! I follow you on my Blogger dashboard. I just clicked "Follow" on your sidebar with the little pictures of all of your followers. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty easy for me to follow you. I either click on the follow link at the top of the blogger bar or on your sidebar I click on the follower link. Been checking out your blog and it's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI follow you always on facebook. It is always great to talk to you. And twitter and of course your blog which always has fun things to read and pictures of your gorgeous fabrics!! Have you decided to make fabric out of the picture with the flowers and the stripey tablecloth? LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Paula! I added your blog url to my "good reads" on the sidebar of my blog. That's how I saw your post this morning. :) Just added you to Google Reader and Facebook too!
ReplyDeleteThe corduroy would make adorable jumpers for my girls, or maybe a new quilt for their little sister due in a couple months!
I can't believe your beautiful fabric is coming out in corduroy! I follow you by clicking Follow on the link on your blog and read you in Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteI follow you in Twitter. I clicked the follow button on your sidebar and follow that way. And you are in my Google Reader (which is like Blog Lines). The fabric is awesomeness fall!
ReplyDeleteHello! You certainly couldn't be less tech-saavy than I am! I follow you on twitter!
ReplyDeleteGoogle Reader! Which just got even better, since I learned how to drag a "NEXT" button to my links bar, so I'm actually clicking through the google reader feeders to real blogs, not just reading thru reader anymore! Confused yet??
ReplyDeletei follow u on twitter and google reader. lots of creativity.
ReplyDeleteI follow through GFC, I love that because it tells me which "friends" of mine also follow a blog. It also means you show up in my blog reader and dashboard, so easy to see when there are new posts.
ReplyDeleteI also follow on Twitter (cause I love twitter) and Facebook. Not sure if you wanted separate comments for each ;)
I follow you on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteHey Paula
ReplyDeleteI follow yo through google reader!
I can follow you through google connect, and you'll show up in my bloglines. However, it's gotten so bogged down that now I just bookmark blogs I like and peruse when I get a second.
ReplyDeleteI follow you ~ I just had to click on follow in your followers section on your right sidebar.
ReplyDeleteourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
I requested to be friends on Facebook. It brought me to your personal page when I clicked on your facebook link. Do you have a business fan page as well?
ReplyDeleteFacebook name: Rebecca Aikema
ourbusylittelbunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
I added you as a contact on flickr. You don't have a link to your account on your blog, so I went to flickr, and searched your name.
ReplyDeleteFlickr ID: becca_tlc
ourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
I follow you on my iGoogle page, so I always see your new posts and check it daily.
ReplyDeleteI found you through Facebook. Lovely giveaway, I adore fine wale cordouroys, make great sturdy comforters for college kids! - Mary
ReplyDeleteKeep on twittering! I follow you from my http://twitter.com/jenni20designs account.

ReplyDeletei'm your newest follower on google friend connect. drooling over those prints!!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog via Google friend connect, twitter, subscribe and like you on Facebook. Why? Cause I loves ya! I'm hooked on your fabric and You are such a neat woman. Seriously. I'd give my eye teeth just to get to meet you in person!
ReplyDeletePaula, you crack me up! I signed up to follow you by clicking on the "follow" link on your side bar. ☺
ReplyDeleteAlso I have you in my sidebar☺
Hello Miss Paula!
ReplyDeleteI happily follow you on Twitter & have your blog listed in my "must-reads" on my blog. Next time I'm on Flickr I'm going to look you up...I didn't know you were there too!
ps. I can totally relate to your tech savviness difficulties, but personally I like to blame everything on blogger ;)
xoxo, allisa
I follow you on Blogger and then read it in Google Reader (it automatically picks up all the blogs I am following in Blogger).
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Google Reader!
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Google friend connect AND Twitter
ReplyDeleteBloglines!! It's the way I get all my blog info!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog. Now that I know you are on facebook, I am going over there to follow you on facebook, too.
ReplyDeleteI have you in my blog roll which is updated when a new post is made.
ReplyDeleteAndi :-)
I follow you via Google reader :) Love your fabrics! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteIt all seems to be working for me here. I followed you a long time ago. I also see the follow button at the very top left hand corner in the navy blue blogger area. It is not in the super cute part of your blog, but at the top in the blue section.
ReplyDeleteSome people have it on their blogs, and others don't. If I am trying to follow you lets say, and it doesn't have the little Follow link at the top. I can go under dashboard on my own blog and scroll down near the bottom where I can click add. When I click that a box comes up for me to enter the website I want to follow. After I put it in then I can simply click save and find your info on my dashboard each and every post that you make.
I love those super cute fabrics, and in corduroy is to die for.
I follow using Google Reader. Would love to win those Fabrics!!
ReplyDeleteI follow you throught google reader. Beautiful fabric, corduroy is always wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHey Paula! I think it's pretty easy to find the links to follow you, but I do often find it helpful when those links are nearer the top of the page so that they are easily accessible. I would also think that having them in view right away as someone is reading a post would make it more likely that they would follow you; you know, something along the lines of "hey! I didn't know Paula was on Twitter, I think I'll follow her!"
ReplyDeleteOkay, that was long-winded! Anywho, I follow you on Twitter, have you listed on my blog, and I subscribe to the blog via my dashboard and Google Reader!
Your fabrics are wonderful. I follow you via google reader (in your sidebar) but I usually go straight to your blog via favorites. Just seems easier that way for me. I don't use facebook or twitter. Once I was an information technology professional and got so tired of carrying cell phones and pagers (yes, plural) and laptop plus being oncall that I shucked being connected all the time. Wonderful stress reduction decision for me!
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to you via Bloglines and love knowing right away when you have a new post come up. I'd love to win your fabric! It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not your only stalker. LOL I started following you on Google about a year ago I think. It's been awhile. Then I started following you on twitter, which I don't use much but yours is the only one I choose to receive twitter texts to my phone. On top of that, you let me be your friend on Facebook. So, yeah, I maybe stalking you a little. Honestly, I just love your creativity and style and just want to channel it. Thanks for this opportunity Paula.
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog by clicking the FOLLOW on Google. I'm already registered with a Google account, so only had to confirm I wanted to follow your blog. I have now told you EVERYTHING I know about it!
ReplyDeleteI follow you in my google reader. that is as techy as i get...no twitter or facebook stuff for me...i waste too much time on the computer as it is! oops, did i say waste??
ReplyDeleteI follow you through Google Reader and it was super easy to subscribe initially. Firefox did all the work for me. I only had to click one button, and here you are in my home. No need for you to do anything, except what you do best, create, write about it and post photos. :)
ReplyDeleteHowdy Paula,
ReplyDeleteI follow you on google reader...just did it...it is easy, it just took me a while to find your google friend connect thing toward the bottom of the page (maybe move it up some!) Love your fabrics and designs!
marcijdebetaz (at) hotmail {dotcom}
hi! i follow you on bloglines, and love reading about all you are doing!! cant wait to see all your new fabrics! lets see, what would i do with the cord?? make a pair of reversible capris for my grandbaby who is 2 and use one of your yummy cottons for the reverse! and the sash out of another one!! cute cute cute
ReplyDeleteI follow you through Google Reader and your blog is also in the sidebar of my blog. That corduroy looks very yummy!
ReplyDeleteI follow you thru google reader but usually click thru from my blog roll which you are on and also on twitter. I agree with the comments about moving the follow widget up. Also blogger has new options for the topics (like the cloud one) that use less space and also for archives (drop down) so they would take less space to highlight all your other goodies...sorry this is probably TMI (too much info!) Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLet me count the ways. . .
ReplyDeleteGoogle Reader
Twitter
Facebook (just requested you)
Now doesn't that sound like you should win a techie award of some kind???
I just love you and your designs.
I have you in my "blogs I visit" list on my sidebar! and I do love visiting!
ReplyDeleteHi Paula,
ReplyDeletethank you for the giveaway. your fabric reminds me of candy- wierd but i follow you via google friend connect. basically on the top bar of your blog just click follow.
I'm a bloglines girl - and I always click on your link as soon as I see an update!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes don't click through to your blog - unless I want to look at pics more closely or you mention you have a new header!
I love your fabric and your writing style, so I follow you in many ways. I first came across your blog while searching for fabric. I saw this absolutely beautiful fabric and wanted to get to know the designer behind the designs. So, I did a general search on google and there was your blog. I just clicked follow and read it in google reader. I joined twitter and started following your tweets by looking your blog. I just became your friend on facebook, but might add a suggestion to change that to a fan page. If you have to send a friend request, you are less likely to follow someone on facebook. The great thing about facebook is that once you have so many followers, you can customize your URL.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your fabric and would love to make some more dresses out of it!
I follow by linking from The Fat Quarter Shop. I am not a techie at all! I really need to focus on Google Reader and get that set up. I love zinnias and your fabrics are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI follow you through Bloglines. I find it very easy to follow all of the blogs I like to read this way. One location and a list to the left where I click and read. Thank you for this wonderful give-away with these beautiful fabrics. Take care and God bless, Cory
ReplyDeleteI follow you on your blog. Love to look at what you are coming up with next. Love your bright colors. Sandi
ReplyDeleteHi Paula,
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled upon your blog and am admiring your pretty fabric. Thanks for the chance to win!
emily.nudelman@gmail.com
Hi Paula, I subscribe to your blog via my Google Reader and get the feed to your posts directly! Love the fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI also follow you on twitter from clicking on the link on the right sidebar!
ReplyDeleteI'm now also stalking you on flickr - just added you as a contact (my id is tingtongandthings).
ReplyDeleteHi Paula! These fabrics are gorgeous! I'm a new follower (discovered you via this giveaway) through Google Friend Connect, Twitter (@kindred_spirit), and Facebook (just requested to be your friend).
ReplyDeleteOther ways you can make it easy for people to follow: Add a "Subscribe by Email" form in your sidebar (I find it easier to keep up with my favorite blogs this way), and add a Facebook fan page which makes it easy for people to keep up with you and your blog or business on Facebook! I wrote up a tutorial on how to create a group here if you're interested: http://kindredspiritmommy.com/how-and-why-to-create-a-facebook-fan-page/
Thanks for the great giveaway! I would be doing something fun with this in my nursery for a little one who is due January 19 if I won!

I have you bookmarked in my blog folder, which I run through everyday - thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog - usually hit the link from Laura Gunn's blog. I'm pretty "technically challenged" also - but I love reading quilting blogs!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome is this! I follow you on twitter will be looking for you on facebook and will come report at once!!! You are so sweet I want to make a yummy quilt and fall baby girl dress!
ReplyDeleteHi Paula, I follow you on Twitter, and I follow you through Blogger. Thanks for the chance, love the corduroy!!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today, but will add you to my list with Google reader. BTW - I'm in Fishers. I never knew you were local!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower on google friend connect! I just clicked the handy dandy "follow" button on the side of your page!
ReplyDeleteI follow on facebook too!
ReplyDeleteI also follow on Flickr! You're everywhere ;)

ReplyDeleteYou always have interesting subjects!
Peggy in NJ
I have no tech skills at all but I easily follow you my just clicking the feed button and subscribing to the feed. Then there you are. Easy. Figured it out all by myself.
ReplyDeleteI just clicked on your 'Follow' button and your blog got added to my Google Reader. Easy peasy!
ReplyDeleteI follow you by clicking follow on the top bar of your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteJust heard of your blog by reading Pat Sloan's blog. I will add you to my Favorites.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric. Thank you.
Darlis
Hey Hey Paula. I follow all blogs by cutting and pasting your url into Google reader. That way I can follow on my smart phone, which would take a lot longer to load your complete blogpage :) Your "friends" block is pretty low on the right side bar. Have you though of raising it up and sandwiching it between the learn-more-about-Paula section and the section that lists places for your fabric. It brings readers eyes right to that section :) Just a suggestion....
ReplyDeletensue21702 at gmail dot com
I am a follower on facebook
ReplyDeleteI am a google reader of your site.
ReplyDeleteYou have to be computer savvy to have even set up a blog to begin with. It is not the easiest thing to do. This I know from experience. pamspinks.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHello Paula,
ReplyDeleteLove reading about what you have been up to. Love your neighbour who lets you pick the zinnia's they are indeed beautiful. I have you saved in my favourites and call in every now and again.

ReplyDelete
