Well here it is. I'm feeling ever so fashionably late in posting my Woodland Delight reveal. Sure, I could lead you to believe that. Truth is I am buried under projects and fabrics and have lost track of days and times. Did I already mention that every surface here is covered? We eat standing and the garage is in no better shape...just another extension of the creative explosion going on here. It's a love-hate thing. I hate the deadlines and pressures, yet love the creative juices that come to the surface when squeezed to the forefront. I do have dreams of showing up at Quilt Market with one sleeve missing. If that really happens please just pretend it's Project Runway and it's a fierce new look.
Woodland Delight is a playful collection of three cheerful colorways; brown, pink and gray. Do you like it like I like it??? Oh I hope so. It's been so fun to work with. Yup, cheery, chirpy fun.
I frankly still have much to do, so I can only give you some snippets of works in progress.
As you may know, I am working on patterns. Here is the Jackie handbag, which you might recognize from Spring Market. Well, my dear friend Simone is making a couple Jackie bags in my new fabrics. She just sent this photo to tease me and it worked. In turn I am teasing you with one of my upcoming girls patterns. If you like this, then hopefully you'll like the women's version, as well. I will be introducing these and my other patterns at the Houston Quilt Market in less than two weeks now!!

Just looked at the clock. Yup, I did, but kinda wish I hadn't. Oh well, another late night. Just me and the sewing machine. And some Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream. xoxo
Note to self: my header needs changed. Another day...
So sweet! Love the pinks and browns. Selfishly wish there was a brown/blue combo since my sister is requesting a quilt in those colors! However, I know my daughter would look adorable in something made from any of these. It would be perfect in a quilt for her as well. Love the birds and the zig zag pattern.
ReplyDeleteLove that pattern...I bet it is going to be so cute as a woman's pattern too. I am excited to see more women's patterns that are actually cute coming out now. My favorite colorway is the grey one. It makes me feel relaxed and I can easily picture those fabrics in my house. Beautiful job! Have fun here in Houston a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteOne, no scratch that, one hundred yards in each print please. Or some fat quarters... I won't be picky. ADORE IT!!! Need to build a new cabinet to hold the yumminess. My husband will most likely have words with you.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Paula!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh, I got some of the same boxes and recovered them. ;)
Sandi
Love the oranges and pinks. Can't wait to see them for real in just a few days. Yikes! See you in Houston!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the gray.. I am dreaming of a studio in those colours, and I have a thing for birds at the moment too...so... perfect!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Paula! You know, I'm partial to the zig zag. ;) Now I have to go nudge my fabric lady see if she will be getting it in!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm personally drawn to browns, always, I do really like the gray set with the pink/blue combo. The birds/flowers print is very nice. I can imagine that paired with the zig zag in a dress or shirt for my twin toddlers. One in zig zag with bird accents, the other in bird with zig zag accents. :)
OH! I love it, Paula!!! I love the line in Grey!!! BEAUTIFUL! Hellooo camera strap slipcovers! :D
ReplyDeleteLoving it, especially the gray. So fun!
ReplyDeleteWow - this line is gorgeous!! I don't know how you come up with new and amazing designs each time - YAY!!! I think my favourite is the brown - but really I love them all!!! Have fun at Quilt Market - it is on my to do list, to one day go and experience Quilt Market.
ReplyDeleteThe gray line is haute! I love the bag, also. I cannot wait to get my grubby hands on some of this and bust out some aprons! My 2 yr old will wear some of this collection as well!
ReplyDeleteI love the pinks and blues. I especially love the bird fabric. Another gorgeous range!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink background with the brown flowers, and the brown/whites to go with it. And I'm not a pink person. But I love the combo.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous new line.
Donna
Oh my gosh, I love the color combos & patterns! The browns are my fave. I ADORE that child's pattern - I can't wait to see it in the adult version! Best wishes for Quilt Market, you'll be a hit!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work Paula!!!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the pinks and oranges.
Wish I could see them in the flesh in Houston!! Have a ball.
Andi :-)
Oh my so fun! You have done it again girl! I LOVE it! I'm designing already. Although I love the brown, I am really digging the pink with gray, great color combos. My current project include a quilt with Flights of Fancy, and gorgeous skirt with Summer Soiree. All I need is some Woodland Delight;)! Keep up the good work, you make very happy sewers:).
ReplyDeleteOk how are we supposed to pick a favorite? lol It is all so beautiful but I guess it would have to be the gray collection. I love that little girls pattern so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love your new fabric! They're all great, but I especially love the brown colorway's bold colors. I'm so excited to see your patterns; I'm always on the lookout for cute, fresh ideas. Good luck at Market, and make sure your sleeve is sewn on.
ReplyDeleteOMG - I am in love! Sigh. Can't wait to touch it at quilt market!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Missy
Oh - wait a minute! Was I supposed to tell you what I love best to be eligible? Okay - it would have to be the birdies...
ReplyDeletemissy
Do I like it? I LOVE it! Pink, brown and gray combinations are always a winner in my books. I really love the browns though - absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a winner! I love the scale of that floral on the darling dress. What a cute style! And the Jackie Bags are way too cute. That zig zag stripe is fantastic. Another collection well done!

ReplyDeleteThe brown and pink palette are my favorites!
OH MY! Your NEW collection is dreamy! I'm definitely pining over the dress. I love every color combination and I'm thinking a couple of fun Summer shirts would cheer up my wardrobe. YOU amaze me!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Paula. I can't wait to see it in person. Only a few short days! And the girls pattern is to die for. So pleased you'll be doing a grown-up version...I always wish for cool "mommy and me" stuff.
ReplyDeleteHoly I love it ALL!! The color combo's are simply F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.!!!

It looks GREAT Paula!! i really like the grey's and pinks. The zig zag and the bird prints i think are my favourite!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCute! I do like all the collection, but the brown range is by far my favourite! I love the retro flowers. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteLove them all! The vibrance of the brown, the prettiness of the pink, and the serenity of the grey. My favourite is the tiny birds print - soooo cute and I would team the birds on blue with the dots on grey for a sweet little girl's top or dress, something that isn't pink for a change but still pretty and girly.
ReplyDeleteI'd just started quilting when l discovered "Flights of fancy" which still remains my all time favorite collection. Now that l have seen "Woodland Delight" l might have to revise that. I love the grey. Grey is fast becoming my new black!
ReplyDeletePLease keep designing - l love yor collections!

Your brown colorway is the same set of colors as so many of the new girls' fall clothing over here in Germany! I just bought a ton for my little niece, sent it over and saw pictures today of 'euro-baby'. I'd love to get my hands on some of your fabric to help doll up her nursery!
ReplyDeleteHi Paula!
ReplyDeleteLove the big flowers in the orange colorway...and the dots, big and little. Great collection. Can't wait to see it and you & Jen at QM next week!
Liz
I am loving your new line..especially the gray. Gray is a favorite of mine to quilt with and it's been harder and harder to find. I like that your patterns are a bit simple. But love the zig zag...Im seeing binding with that material!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the blue with the gray birds! And how you paired the orange wit the light pink & gray! Fabulous! I can't wait to see it in person!
ReplyDeleteI love all three sets, and think they will all be fun to play with. I love mixing bright fabrics, and here you have given me three sets of wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI really love the ones with the little ball things on them, as well as the one with tiny flowers and birds. I just love them all too much to really pick just one or two.

ReplyDeleteI really love the patterns & all of the fabrics! If I have to choose, I think I like the pink colorway the best. but only by a very small margin! Good job on everthing (as usual)
ReplyDeleteI love the pink palette... there is something about the gray and pinks together that is very modern, but feminine at the same time. Also, that little girl's top is super cute. When will that be available? I really like the use of the polka dots with the flowers, and know the perfect little girl who would love to sport that to preschool.
ReplyDeleteThese fabrics are just gorgeous!! The zig zag stripe is probably my favorite. The girls dress pattern looks awesome too! It's very different from what's out there and I love that! Good job!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the birdies. The brown colorway is definitely my favorite - the pink and brown combos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet and beautiful your fabric is. I LOVE it. I also love what Simone does with your fabric. I am a huge fan of hers as well. I just asked her last night in an email to make me a bag with your new fabric, not even knowing that you were posting it. I said although I don't know what it looks like yet, I am sure it is beautiful, so please make me a tote out of it. Little did I know that you would then post your new designs. I can't wait for your patterns!! I just love your designs! A huge fan, Marnie
ReplyDeleteI'm a blue girl thru and thru, and LOVE the grey colorway is my favorite. I really wish I had a little girl to sew for, it would make me have to learn to sew. Now if you would have paired the blue with the orange, I would have spent my rent money on that instead of this stupid new tattoo!! HAHA ;) Great stuff as always!
ReplyDeleteThat little dress is so adorable! And the fabric is gorgeous - love the gray and pink colorways!
ReplyDeleteOh, it's really beautiful! Retro, very cool. For some reason, I especially like that little birdie print, particularly in that kind of rose/brown(?) colorway that you have in the gray group.

Liz @ teeny tiny quilts

ReplyDeleteWow! I love the color combinations and the designs. How stunning. I can't wait until this fabric comes out. You've outdone yourself.

The Big Mod flowers in the grey colorway are fun - I could see a vibrant the jackie bag out of that fabric. And I must say that the jackie bag that Simone made up is fabulous with it's lovely and reserved body fabric and the lively handles! I'd smile every time i picked it up.

I am really liking the pink and grey- it seems like everything has been only pink or blue and brown lately, which is beautiful, but the grey looks really fresh to me. I wish I was creative like that!
