Fall Quilt Market is right around the corner and, believe it or not, I just finally received the remainder of my Botanika Collection. Sigh. Due to a snafu, several of my fabrics sat in Indiana until this last Friday. It's hard to believe that I submitted my artwork for Botanika way back in August of 2010, and after a long separation, am now finally enjoying the full collection together in one place...my studio. As I stare at Garden Border and Wink Wink I am reminded of when the idea for these designs came about. I spent a couple weeks in San Diego (before we knew we'd end up living here). I started painting Garden Border and Mille Fleur from actual flowers from Balboa Gardens and worked on Wink Wink in the hotel room. A way too long process has finally come full circle. So, while my friends are preparing their newest fabrics for market, I am a full step behind.

Now I'm on my way now to get three wisdom teeth pulled. I tried to convince the dentist that I needed every tooth I have left, but he disagrees. Wish me a very speedy recovery. xo
The green silohette! I may have to find a way to incorporate that into my next room project! Just saw Paula Prass pic frames in a local gift shop in Evansville, The Red Poppy!of course I had to buy to go in Ansley's room for Summer Soire!
ReplyDeleteWow! Just that little bit you showed looks like a scary amount of work! I love the meadow colorway. I'm a sucker for intense color. It's all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI hope the wisdom teeth just pop out, ensuring a quick recovery. I held onto mine until a couple of years ago. So glad they're finally gone!
The green silhouette! I may have to find a way to place in my next room project! I was excited to see that an Evansville gift store has Paula Prass/Mimi's Collection picture frames! Of course I had to buy for ANsley's room Summer Soire!

ReplyDeleteooooh, I like the green...no the blue...I like them all. good luck with your dental work.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the green!!! And I seriously love seeing when artists post pics of their process like that. I can't draw to save my life, so I really enjoy seeing your talent like that!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Can't decide between the blue and the green. LOVE. Good luck at the dentist. :(
ReplyDeleteMeadow is my favorite colorway, with Wink Wink in blue being my absolute fave.
ReplyDeleteThose are so beautiful-I thinkthe green is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the wisdom teeth. I only had 2 & I had to have them pulled one at a time within 3 months of the birth of each of my 2 children. I've always wondered if it was a result or a random coincidence
Good luck on getting your wisdom teeth out! I had one pulled and that was enough for me. I'm loving the lime green colorway, would look great on pillows!
ReplyDeleteOuch at the wisdom teeth! Here's to a speedy recovery, aided by lots of ice cream! Paula, Botanika is just gorgeous, and I am SO in love with the Meadow colorway. So striking! It really has my quilt design wheels turning!
ReplyDeleteI wish you well with your wisdom teeth. My 3 year old is recovering from having her tonsils removed, so we know how slow the process can be. I'm loving that green print. This print is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the Pastille collection! Congrats on it being done!

I love them all but if pushed to pick a favourite then it would be the blue/ brown combo. Hope your trip to the dentist isn't too bad and that you feel better as soon as can be!
ReplyDeleteI love Balboa Park, I can definitely see your inspiration from there! I like the green meadow color, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love the meadow colorway best. Wink Wink in the green meadow color is just spectacular. It would play so nicely with many new friends it can make in my fabric stash :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the vivid blue on the white background, but all of it is beautiful! Good luck with the wisdom teeth extraction -- I had all 4 of mine out at the same ti9me when I was in college - rough few days, but I was glad it was all over at once.
ReplyDeleteI love them all but the green is my favorite. And I had my wisdom teeth out in this decade of life too! Blessings with quick healing and a sped-up process for the Quilt Show. You know what they say: Necessity is the mother of invention. May being a step behind put you a step ahead!
ReplyDeleteoh my - beautiful!!!! GREEN for me! THANKS!!!
ReplyDeleteI like them all but if I have to choose I will go for the green.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your dentist work it is so much easier these days.
Green, green, green...it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your Meadow Colorway. Thank you for the chance to win some. Take care and God bless, Cory
ReplyDeleteThe green is talking to me ;)
ReplyDeleteYour work is gorgeous! I really admire your patience. It must be quite the process...all this fabric creation business. We are lucky to have your art! Best of luck with your wisdom teeth...and have a blast at market!!
love the blue brown combo best (I think)
ReplyDeleteBy now you must be a couple of teeth lighter but no less "wiser". I have to say I love the green and already have it is made up with two of your other prints. Thank you for sharing with everyone the amount of work that goes into designing a print ( and this was just a one color). Everyone loves to see the process. Your prints have much more personality because you draw them by hand first. Computer generated prints always seem lacking.
ReplyDeleteI love all the prints from your Botanika collection.
Probably no one else feels this way, but I like a moderate pace of fabric releases. I'm still using up my "older" favorites. I just bought my first piece of Botanika last week and am in love with it. My favorite colorway is that brown and aqua one...would make great pillows for my brand new couch! (wink, wink!)
ReplyDeleteI love the green. Such a great color. The blue is wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteWay to hard to pick, but I guess the Pastille colorway, since I just ordered some of it from Hawthorne Threads! Recover quickly from your wisdom teeth, I had my 3 removed years ago, and remember being in ecstasy when I was all drugged up! HAHA
ReplyDeleteI love the green and the blue. So beautiful. Your artwork is amazing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright green--I feel the design has traditional elements and the pop of bright color is a great surprise. I'd sure love to win a yard of it!
ReplyDeleteI love the Meadow colorway. Chek out my iPad cover...

Thanks....Angie.
LOVE this lateest line
BLUE, BLUE, BLUE I love blue. I had my wisdom teeth out late, it was a lot less painful then everyone told me it would be, but then I believe that has to be because I had a good dentist.
ReplyDeleteBest luck with your wisdom teeth for a easy healing and minimal discomfort. I am happy that you finally got the entire range. I fell for Botanika the first time I saw it online, but in person----Wow. Gorgeous. I would love to combine the brown Wink on a pillow with the Wing Study that I am embroidering on! (after I get past just looking at it and petting it!)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!

ReplyDeletePraying you find quick comfort from your procedure!
Thank you for the opportunity!
I love this new line!! While it's a tough choice, I think the blue or green are calling my name right now.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're enjoying San Diego, keep up the beautiful work.

ReplyDeleteOh crikey-I love this!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics! Wow so hard to choose which one...I think my current fav color is that shade of green! So fresh! Thanks for the chance! Have fun at Market!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! it is beautiful, I love the green and white one. I would love to use it to make a tunic for a little girl at the farmer's market. Also I would love to use it as a runner over a scalloped burlap table cloth. I love your work!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really hard decision! I'd go with Pastille though if forced to make a choice :)
ReplyDeleteI just had a wisdom tooth pulled and I was all worked up but I had an amazing dentist who pulled it out so easily. Dentists how a days seem to be very skilled. I had a good exp sure hope that yours is as well. I love you materials. Love anything with aqua. Sandi
ReplyDeleteWow! yoy have a lovely blog Paula! I so loved the green palette. Goodluck with your recovery too :)
ReplyDeletebest wishes,
Mariyah Nasir
